Workshops & Mentorships

At TonkinsonARTmasters, learning to paint is more than acquiring technique — it’s learning to see. Leone Tonkinson guides each student to observe light as a living language, to translate emotion into form, and to find the confidence of their own artistic signature.

“Teaching light is teaching presence.”

Joining our Workshops

Enrollment is open throughout the year. Workshops and mentorships are available in English and Dutch. To inquire about current schedules, fees, or availability, please get in touch with Leone directly via the Contact page or email: leone.tonkinson@gmail.com.

“Every artist begins again, with each new light.”

In-Person Classes – Bussum Studio

In the quiet setting of her studio in Bussum, Leone teaches classical oil painting in small, focused groups. Students work directly from still life, nature, and master studies, learning the foundations of realism — drawing, composition, value, and color harmony — while exploring their individual voice. Each class is personal, structured, and designed for steady progress.

“Each session becomes a conversation between brush, breath, and light.”

Private Mentorships – One-to-One Guidance

For artists seeking a more individualized path, private mentorships offer dedicated attention to technique, creative development, and portfolio direction. Leone’s mentorships are tailored to each artist’s needs — from beginners building a foundation to experienced painters refining mastery and depth.

“Mentorship is where mastery turns into meaning.”

Online Lessons – Study from Anywhere

For international students or those unable to attend in person, online sessions bring the same care and structure of the studio into a virtual space. Through guided demonstrations, critique, and shared projects, artists receive personal feedback and ongoing support.

“Distance disappears when light becomes language.”
